Is it a blanket or a jacket? It's both! Winter is the perfect time to wear plenty of layers, and this Crochet Janket certainly fits the bill. It's an oversized jacket that you can wear around the house, but it's also a crochet blanket you can relax with on the couch.

This 2-in-1 crochet pattern works up quickly using super bulky yarn. It's so soft and cozy, you will never want to take it off. The janket is an unbelievably easy crochet pattern that even beginners can complete.

I did make this one for my Grandson who has been asking for a poncho or shawl. He said all the girls get the best crocheted gifts from me and all he gets is hats and scarfs. So when I seen this I thought of him. He is only 11 years old and very thin so I only used 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket yarn. It came out great! I need to get pictures of him in it to share. This is a really great pattern and is so easy. Thank you so much for sharing this free Janket crochet pattern.

Tried this craft? What did you think?

This project has multiple uses. It can be worn as an oversized shrug or it can be unbuttoned and used as a small lapghan or blanket. This would come in very handy for chilly days spent outside at the kids soccer and football games. It allows you to free up your hands to carry other things.

I have the perfect yarn for this! The yarn has a touch of shimmer in it and that would add a nice touch. The temperature in the office I work always varies and I always bring something to throw over my shoulders. This pattern would be perfect and it looks easy to make. With the yarn I have it would add to my "office attire" where I can still look business like and be warm at the same time. Thank you.

O my goodness! This is amazing. I go to a lot of football games and this will be perfect for staying warm when it gets cold. I will wear it as a wrap by itself but it is so nice and roomy that I will be able to layer jackets under it too. This is a fabulous pattern and idea!

A janket? Haha, never heard that word before but true. Is it a jacket or is it a blanketno, its a janket, which actually makes it both. Very brilliant idea. Looks like the perfect item to wear to a football game on a chilly evening to stay warm. Very nice.

This is a great pattern, I love the versatility of using it as a jacket around the house on cold days and then using it to curl up with when reading or watching tv. Just lovely!

This janket is really so awesome to wear especially inside the house during the winter months. It can serve as jacket as you move around the house and at the same time serve as a blanket to keep you warm as you lounge in the sofa to take a rest, or take a much needed nap. This Crochet Janket will serve its purpose if done in a chunky or super chunky yarn in one solid color or a variegated yarn. Thanks for this beautiful creation.

Oh I made this and it is fabulous! It is very hot in the southern hemisphere at the moment and when I am not using my janket it drape it over my chaise longue and it looks very beautiful.

What a Great Idea! I just love this Crochet Janket pattern. It is so easy to whip up with double crochet and buttons. I love the colors this one is done in. I know I'll have to make a few of these to keep around the house come this fall for the cooler nights. Why didn't I think of this years ago?? LOL Thank you so much for sharing this free easy pattern.

cindygrumbo - We suggest that you try the link again as it appears to be working well. There may have been a temporary issue with the site or with internet connection. Happy crocheting - Editor of AllFreeCrochet

love it - next project before next winter hits. I cranked the heat (not paying got the bill) and was still cold - thanks so much

I'm also loving this chunky "janket" pattern Ziggy! I don't know if I would wear this out and about but would love to have this for around the house instead of trying to wrap myself in a blanket while doing chores, this would be the perfect solution!

Link working OK for me - this could also be easily converted to an easy knitting version

The pattern link is not loading. Is it still a good link?
