Blue Willow Crochet Shrug

search

It's not everyday you come across such an elegant crochet pattern. This Blue Willow Crochet Shrug is a timeless design that belongs in every woman's wardrobe. The best thing about this particular crochet shrug is that it's seamless - there's no need to work each part separately and sew them together at the end. Bulky yarn makes this a quick and cozy crochet pattern to complete. It's approximately a size large, but would likely fit anyone in the M-XL size range. The button adds a nice (and optional) finishing touch.

If this were a costume piece, I would describe it as an Edwardian pelisse. Ive made my fair share of these using fabric, so Im really impressed that the designer came up with a clever way to make this seamless. The designer includes photos from a similar project and for the most part, it carries over to this one. The pattern is available as a free download, too.

I do like the look of this Blue Willow Crochet Shrug and pray I can create one that looks like the one pictured.. After reading the written pattern and all of the comments I'm hoping mine will work. I guess if I just follow the pattern and keep going it will work out. Has anyone made this one yet? If so could you please tell me how it worked out? I am wondering how to make this a little wider so It can cover more of the front. I will give it a try and hope it works.. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet shrug pattern.

I have always been kind of nervous when I see a pattern for a sweater or a shrug that is all one piece. You would think that I would be thrilled to find a pattern such as this. However, after reviewing the pattern myself I can say that it is very well written. This will certainly keep you warm and cozy this winter!

This is a simple and quick pattern complete with tutorial pictures to help explain the steps. 13-ply yarn, wow, I didnt realize yarn came in 13 ply. Will have to Google the yarn to see who sells it near me. I am interested in actually seeing this yarn in person and to see what different shades it comes in.

The pattern says that this is seamless which means that you just continue crocheting from start to end without having to sew parts together. Wow. Even veteran crocheters will like that because there is less effort on their part. There is always something mysterious with the blue color regardless what shade you use. The Blue Wilow Crochet Shrug is one. It transcends time. age, race, and social and economic background. It is so timeless.
