Create a wonderful scarf using the Basket Weave Scarf Pattern. A basket weave crochet pattern lets you work multiple rows of a simple design that will create a beautifully patterned scarf. The stitch pattern is so easy to remember, you'll be flying through it in no time - just alternate front and back post double crochet stitches! If you want the scarf wider or thinner, it's easy to customize this crochet scarf by adding or subtracting stitches from your foundation row. This would be a great matching holiday present, make one for yourself and then give all of your friends one too, in their favorite colors!

How many chains to start it???

Hi jolenetonn, If you click through to the pattern by clicking on the link that says Click Here for Crochet Pattern, you'll see that you start with 17 fdc stitches. For any further specific pattern questions, I would ask the blogger herself by commenting on her website - we simply link out to the pattern. :) I hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

How do i print this pattern off?

I think this pattern is really cool. I might try to make a blanket in this patter.. very pretty.. thanks for sharing ..

I made this scarf last week and it's beautiful. I am making two more!

Pattern fails to mention how many skeins of yarn a scarf might require. It would certainly help knowing this so that advance yarn selection would be sufficient.

just worndering, how many skeins of yarn did this pattern take?

I used a single skein of Red Heart with Love to make this scarf.

This scarf is beautiful.

I would do the basket weave scarf because I need my winter scarves to be WARM. I also love the texture of it. I would do it in "old gold" to go well with my coat.

I love the basket weave pattern. I also like that it is done in short rows for the width of the scarf instead of very long rows for the length of the scarf. Crocheting many short rows gives me more of a sense of accomplishment as I am making the scarf and I can also make it shorter or longer if I want to.

Love the basket weave stitch. So warm! But I'd do it in yellow! :>) Makew me think of the sun Mama Jo's Inspired by Love

I like this one.

I love Basket Weave anything. My every day afghan is in Basket Weave. It is a very warm stitch since it doesn't have any holes to let in the air. It is an easy stitch to adjust size for any project you may have in mind. Love it. jcg1224
