Lion Brand's newest and best addition to their line is their Modern Baby Yarn. It is definitely the right yarn for your next baby crochet project. It's a lightweight yarn that is soft to the touch and easy to care for when your design is complete. One of the best things about this yarn that makes it perfect for kids is that it's hypo-allergenic and meant to leave skin itch-free. When both your skin and your yarn feel soft and smooth, there's no reason to use anything else for the crochet patterns you work up for your kids. Babies and kids have the most sensitive skin, and this yarn tries to help alleviate some of the problems store-bought clothes can cause by being an acrylic/nylon blend.

I make hats and blankets for charity, through the ladies sewing group at my church. We give them out at baptisms, when visiting the new parents and to hospitals for their preemie unit and bereavement boxes. Lion Brand has lots of really nice yarn for this projects!

I have been making blankets, booties, dresses, bibs for my friend, who is going to be a first time grandpa. I have enjoyed making all kinds of baby items for years for friends and the neighboring hospitals and will continue when I can find nonallergic yarns to work with.

I have recently been making little baby dresses with booties and diaper covers as gifts for friends that are new grandmothers! I also love making them with a matching blanket! I am interested in any yarn that is billed for sensitive skin as I have lots of issues with many yarns having a cashmere allergy myself and eczema running high in my family among my grandchildren! I love making anything baby! Be it the necessary bibs, diapers covers, or the frilly little dresses and sweaters. Making for a new baby just brings joy to the soul!

I am making a chemo hat for my mom who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer this spring. Love the colors and feel. Will also make more chemo hats for the hospital.

Most of the baby projects I make are blankets. Crochet blankets in an open stitch (breathing space)are acceptable to most doctors for baby to have in the crib. Also little ones take years to out grow a blanket.
