I love this, but it looks way too pretty to use as a hot pad and hide it under something. Looks pretty enough to use on a coffee table as a conversation piece. Too bad the owner of the site took the pattern down and left us hanging. The edit to the pdf link does work, but is difficult to read.

Just love your site, the only problem I have is that I waste so much time looking at all the project that I would like to make. Not enough hours or maybe years to do so.

Hello, I just loved this Pot Holder, it is so delicate and beautiful, but I've been trying all day long and I don't pass from round 3, and I'm not even sure I'm correct, I think I am but I've been reading and reading back and forth and I can't find the right way to crochet the round 4th. Maybe my problem is I'm in oxygen 24/5 and I have very bad memory problems and I need to be really calm and focus and after reading 5-6 times that I can do it but not with this 4th round, I don't want to give up, tomorrow I have a test at the hospital is a whole day thing and I don't think I'm going to be able to work in my project, but if any ideas could your please help me? I have an encyclopedia in crochet and even that I can't pass round 3rd. Thank you so much. Beautiful cat

remember round 3 is worked in the front of the loop and round four is worked in the back loop of same stitch. that makes the round 3 petals stand up.

LOL this in fact IS 'Mum' and Grandma's Hotpad/Potholder. I have one identical to this Grandma made 40 years a different color of course but it's the same ;}

This is lovely! Would also make a nice gift.

absolutely beautiful. I have my grandmothers felt hot pads and have been looking for patterns to make to cover them. This should do nicely. Thank you!!

What is a bone ring?

This is simply a round plastic ring that will serve as your "hanging" ring. When you are ending your potholder you will make a few crochet stitches covering the ring and also attaching it to the pot holder.

This pattern does not come up at all and I really wanted it.

This is absolutely beautiful! I've been needing pot holders so this may be what I'll make next!

Hi movice13 5202145 - After you click where it says "Click here for crochet pattern," a new window will open up. Scroll down to where it says "You can download the pdf pattern here." Click on that link and a PDF of the pattern will open. Please make sure that you have the most updated version of Adobe installed on your computer. Hope this helps! -The editors of AllFreeCrochet

I would love to make "not your mums hotpad" but can't get pattern to show. Would you be willing to send it to me? Thank you.

Thanks this is very pretty. I have been wanting to make some potholders and this will be perfect.

very preety i will try definately and let you know thanks for giving notes and patterns

I am dying to make this. Though I would use thread and a size 7 hook but would hate to use it as a pot holder. It would make a cool pillow top using bigger hook and yarn though. I love the pattern. Yes I recall those. I am older than 30 but young enough to not have those laying around my house. My grandma did. She made them Her knitting and crocheting was beautiful. I can crochet like her but working on knitting now. I still have stuff she made my daughter and gave it to my granddaughter. I am thrilled there are sites like this. I am probably old enough to be your Mum I didn't have those around. LOL

Hi all - It appears that the original link to the pattern was broken but they have updated it and you should be able to download the pdf by clicking where it says "You can download the pdf pattern here." Please make sure you have the most up-to-date version of Adobe installed on your computer as this may be what is causing the problem. Hope this helps! -The editors of AllFreeCrochet

I have followed several links imbedded in articles and found the pattern here: If you have problems reading the .pdf, try updating your Acrobat Reader software.

The (Not Your) Mum's Hotpad is gorgeous but I am unable to download the pattern. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Pat

Very pretty, but how does one get to the actual pattern?

To: vyonnem315 I had the same problem with another pattern and learned it is because of an updated version PDF uncompatibility with earlier versions. AFC should be able to email the PDF to you personally. Good Luck.

Would love to try the beautiful "(Not Your) Mum's Hotpad" pattern, but unfortunately, when you try to get to the PDF of the instructions provided by the author/designer, nothing comes up except a black screen. I can get to the designer's site through the link above "Click here for Crochet Pattern" but you then have to click on a PDF link to get the actual pattern, and it is that link that does not work.
