There are a few other donut coaster patterns floating around out there on the internet. In my opinion these go the extra mile to make them more realistic, almost like an amigurumi project. I probably would use the Impeccable yarns for mine, as I prefer their bright and saturated colors up against the Sugar 'N Cream. Another idea is to use a variegated yarn to mimic frosting with sprinkles, if you wanna take the easy way out!

This pattern is not only for the doughnut coasters, but also has a holder to keep them neat and organized when not in use. What a great pattern that is easy to follow and is also a stash buster helper since each coaster takes so little yarn. You could make them in almost any flavor / color.

Adorable. I love donuts but they do not love me. Well I guess they kinda do. When I eat them they stay "forever". This is a cool way to have my donut every day and leave it on the table and not on my mid section. I love this donut coaster pattern.

I love food related crochet projects and this one is no exception. I just happen to have just completed making donuts for a project and I have some leftover yarn that I can complete this on today if I can pull myself away from the computer. Thanks for the free pattern.

These are just adorable and wow, what cute gifts or craft show offers! The nice thing about this project is that it includes a handy holder for the coasters, too. Just wrap a ribbon around the entire stack and instant gift! The designer provides clear instructions and photos (none for the coaster holder). The designer also offers this as a free download, too.

Oh no! These are just too cute. I have to make them for my best friend. Her husband is a police officer so I may have to drop them off and run! I can't wait to make them in different icing colors. They look good enough to eat. Thank you for sharing.

I have a few friends in our local sheriff's department. They'll get a kick out of these, too! Thanks for the great idea!

Oh my gosh, I am so infatuated with these nearly amigurumi-style coasters! I love all things cute and colorful, and these donut coaster fit the bill. Not only are they going to be for me personally, but I do have the perfect friend gift recipient for a set, too! I think these are the best ones I have seen. Must be the staggered increases in each round- make them perfectly round instead of seeing those little points all the way around.
