Im not surprised that the designer found comfort in fiber arts as well as mandelas. I had the opportunity once to watch a touring group of Tibetan monks create a large complex mandela using colored sand. It was truly fascinating. Not everyone has to deal with mental illness, but everyone has something challenging come into their life. I find great comfort in crochet, too.

I am just now getting into these mandalas. I already made one from a pattern that I found on this website and I am giving it to my good friend. She will use it on her kitchen table as a centerpiece. These particular mandalas are very nice in that they have a nice border edge on them that is very pleasing to the eye. I like that I can use any old yarn I have laying around the house, which is mostly the worsted weight yarns. It's a nice story on the web page, too.
