This is not exactly what comes to mind when I think Granny Square. Also, dont worry about all the other information at the top of the linked page. Keep scrolling and youll come to the actual pattern for this project. Since this project uses Post stitches, the designer has included it with her book review. Theres a green Print Friendly button that generates a .pdf as well.

This So Serene Granny Square is not your typical granny squares that you make in many pieces then assemble to make one blanket or afghan. This is just a square blanket or afghan that is done in these beautiful stitches in white, blue, and gray. I'm excited to see this in earth color or pastel combination.

Okay I must have misunderstood what a granny square is if this is one! I almost passed this one by because I'd always understood Granny Squares to be those worked either in the round or the square from the center to the outside edge and then set together unless of course you're doing one great big single square but the first part still applies. Quite honestly I not real fond of them. I really like this stitch pattern and I haven't done the front post double crochet stitch so I'll even get to add a new stitch to my collection!

I have always liked different patterns of granny squares. It teaches you different methods and keeps you from getting bored doing the same pattern over and over. You can make them out of cotton and use them as washcloths as well or a potholder. I know you have to look further down after they mention the book to get the pattern but buying a book like that is not a bad idea. Thank you.

This is a very eye catching granny square pattern. Follow the link to the designers site to find that it is part of a book that contain 99 different crochet stitches. Granny squares have many uses and dont have to be limited to afghans. I like to make wash cloths out of my most favorite granny squares.

I am an enthusiastic collector of different granny square patterns and designs and this one is so interesting that I could not possibly pass it by! With this one I just love the way the colors kind of overlap, or leak into, each other thereby taking a fairly average square and elevating it into something really interesting. Well done to the designer!

The look of this square motif is so relaxing. I am sure the act of making it is just as relaxing, too! I see that this is part of a listing or group of 99 post stitches that she has included information on within her pattern page for the serene granny square. I am intrigued by the post stitches! I don't do them all that much, in fact, maybe only once or twice. So I'd definitely like to learn more.

I like the look of this pattern. I was wondering if you had a tutorial video on this pattern? If so, where can I find it? Please let me know. Thanks

Hello! We actually do not have a video for this pattern currently, but we will add a video as soon as we can for it. Thank you for your comment! - Editor of AllFreeCrochet

I'm crazy about your afghans. For someone who is not into crochet, the designs look so complicated but they are really very easy to make. The patterns are made simple and easy to follow. I wish I could make all the afghans in your website. Thanks.
