Seashell Granny Square Pattern
The scalloped edging and overall design of this seashell-inspired square will definitely remind you of those summer days spent at the beach. This Seashell Granny Square Pattern can be used to create a crocheted afghan or can be doubled up and used as a trivet. Soft blue and green tones would also make this an ideal choice for a baby blanket for either a baby boy or girl. It's an intermediate crochet pattern to work up using worsted weight yarn. This is a must-make crochet pattern if you have a beach house or live near the ocean.

I love how the shell was crafted to resemble that big seashell seen on the beach. I can almost hear the sound emanating from the inside of the shell when you place it very near our ear. I think that mysterious sound is coming from the ocean floor.

I live in Florida and for some reason this just makes me think of Sanibel island. The shells there are some of the best in Florida. This will look great as a wall hanging in my master bath. I think twelve squares should do it. Thank you for sharing such a pretty, easy pattern.

My husband has family on Sanibel, and this pattern was somewhat inspired by a trip to St. Pete's Beach ) Small world!

I like this Granny Square. I was born in the month of June and I just adore being near water. Right now I do not get to the shore often and this is a great way to bring a little bit of it indoors. Thanks for the free pattern.

I consider myself really lucky. If I jump in my car and head east I can be on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in less than forty minutes. In only a few short months, the trips to the beach will begin again. This would be a great project to work while sitting on the sand and by the end of the season I will have a complete afghan.

How original is this granny square design? Wow! Congratulations to the pattern designer for bringing this to us. I can see many uses for the granny square alone- a trivet, a potholder, a wash cloth or a dish cloth (I would do all those in 100% yarn though). Mix up some solid squares in matching colors to make your afghan not so overwhelming with the shells design. Oh! This would be wonderful as a pillow cover, too!

Nautilus shells are among my favorite, and the colors of this square certainly are reminiscent of the sea! The shell is worked as part of the square itself, but I cant help but wish other shells were included, too. However, the author does give a link to some other projects using this motif and square. Thanks for finding this one.

Living near the beach, I am always on the lookout for any items with a beach theme. This would look great worked into a throw afghan for the sofa for guests to use on chilly nights when they visit. I have several Northern friends that also love beach-themed items that this could be incorporated in to make a quick and easy gift for them.

I love this Seashell Granny Square Pattern. I usually don't care for the granny squares but this one is so different. I can see making these bigger so have to make less for a blanket. The colors and pattern are well written and easy to understand. Thanks for making me want to crochet a granny square! #BestIdeaEver

Cheryl, have you attempted this pattern?! I'm in love with the look of it and know several people who would love to receive a blanket full of these squares, but I'm actually intimidated by all the layers, color changes, etc. of this pattern! Hoping it's not as difficult as it looks!

amts1ta I don't always see comments here, but if you try the pattern and run into any issues, comment on the pattern post itself and I'll try to help )
