Calling all crochet beginners! This How to Crochet a Basic Granny Square is exactly what any crochet beginner needs when they want to work on their first blanket. This video tutorial breaks down exactly how easy it can be for you to crochet your very own blanket square in just two repetitive steps - and then all you have to do is make a whole lot of individual granny squares and sew them together for an easy granny square blanket!

You can also use this method to crochet a very simple and basic double crochet afghan - just make your starting chain the width you'd want your blanket to be, and then just keep crocheting row after row until your design is as long as you want it to be. It's so easy!
