Foundation Chain: Multiples of 11

  1. Foundation Row: 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of next 2ch, [1dc, ch 2, 1dc] in next ch, 1dc in each of next 4ch, *skip, next 2 ch, 1dc in each of next 4ch, [1dc, ch 2, 1dc] in next ch, 1dc in each of next 4ch, rep from * across, turn.

  2. Row 1: ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc2tog. 1dc in each of the next 2 sts, [1dc, ch2, 1dc] in next ch 2 sp, *1dc in each of the next 4dc, skip next 2dc, 1dc in each of the next 4dc, [1dc, ch2, 1dc] in next dc, rep from * across to last 5 sts, 1dc in each of the next 2 dc, dc2tog, 1dc top of tch, turn.

  3. Repeat row 1 until you have reached your desired length.

Im not overly fond of this stitch, but my senior ladies sure do love it. A few have even brought in their own afghans from back in the 1970s when this stitch was very popular. I will teach it if asked, and the former version of this post is what I used. The instructions are brief, so its easy to print them out on one page using large print. I also include a hand drawn chartalways looking to include new skills.
