Simple Nimophila Flower

Simple Nimophila Flower

"I was looking for a simple flower to offset my crochet poppies when I spotted Nemophila flowers (aka Baby Blue Eyes). I found it really fun & easy to recreate them in crochet form! I experimented with a few different hook sizes. I think that a little bit of variation in the size of these flowers will make them appear more lifelike in a bouquet or flower crown. You’ll need just a little skill with embroidery to add a finishing touch to these nemophila. I created the look of black stamen with french knots. I think you could skip this step and use a black sharpie to make little dots if french knots aren’t your thing."

This designer has created the most amazing flowers. Im a long time gardener, and Im just astonished at how well shes captured these humble little blossoms. The pattern for the Baby Blue Eyes is very simple, but I already know Im in trouble when it comes to French Knots. Fortunately, Ive figured out a way to sort of fake a French Knot so I dont have to use a Sharpie instead.

What a cute flower. It's one I never heard of. But it is a darling. I read the instructions and there's nothing hard about it. I like the idea of using a magic marker to make the dots. French knots are not my best project. I can't wait to add these to my long list of flowers.

Do check out her other floral designs. They are just astounding. If you collect flower patterns, you won't be disappointed.
