This is a great pattern with so many uses. Because you can make the flower any size you like, you can adapt it for everything from embellishing a project, to making hot pads, afghan pieces, and more. The way the petals are shaped makes this a great pattern for scrubbies too!

While I like this flowerit would make a lovely zinnia or chrysanthemumbut it worked up much larger than I expected using the recommended hook (size H). I kept the yarn size but used a smaller F hook, and decreased the number of rounds. Just as pretty, and much more useful for my purposes. Thats the wonderful thing about crochetit is just so easy to adapt a pattern to what you need.

This is not a direct link to the pattern and it is not free. This link gets you to the page but access to patterns is $24.99.

Hi there, this pattern is indeed free. Here is the URL: http://littlemonkeyscrochet.com/the-never-ending-wildflower/ If you scroll down, the pattern is at the bottom of that page. I hope that helps!

I've just found a pattern for a flower to top a granny square afghan, called a flower applique. Here's the link to the pattern I will pin this pattern. Thanks.

This is so fun and easy to follow! Thanks for sharing the pattern!

This is so much easier than it looks and so much fun to make in different colors. I made quite a lot with only the first 2 or 3 layers. You can make as large as you want for your project. I used a solid color shank button for the center or started with one color and changed colors for the petals. They are perfect for hats or decorating other items. After the first few, you won't need the pattern.
