Alice Merlino has tried just about every craft there is, but crochet is her mainstay. She loves its rhythm and graceful monotony. The idea that one long string can turn into a handbag (or anything at all) seems like magic. No matter how long she's been doing it, crochet always presents her with new challenges.

I had saved a pattern for a tote bag to the all free crochet site a while back. I went to find it to print it and make a couple as Christmas gifts and the patterns are no longer accssible. Can you help me with this ? Thanks

Thanks Alice: I have been trying to make a bag like this and keep ripping. Had a challenge with the handles. I so love this and as soon as I finish with my most recent baby blanket and teddy bear gift for a friends baby I am making this bag for myself!!
