Re-Usable Crochet Grocery Bag

"One of the things I also like about grocery sack is the shape, the wide open mouth with two handles, I find it useful for carrying a project and the like around, but I defiantly needed to ditch the Grocery Store logo, and make it a crochet bag. This crochet pattern features a grocery sack shaped bag worked out of all DC stitches, and a little light sewing to re-enforce the handles.  This bag is worked in one piece and can be made up pretty quickly.  A great project for beginners and those who love re-using!"

Any time you can bring your own reusable bag to market is a good thing. I agree that these are designed like the plastic ones and can easily be used at the check out registers. By using bags such as these we leave the planet a little bit better than by using those plastic bags that would eventually wind up in the landfills. I love this project.

This is such a clever project, especially if you have a bunch of scrap yarn to use up. I always try to bring reusable bags with me to the store, so I will put this on my list of projects to make.

Who among us do not use those plastic shopping bags that we get from just about every vendor now a days. I know I do but I really feel guilty about adding to the landfills all of that plastic. I have recently started asking for paper but this option is even better. The way this is designed it will easily fit the stand at the self check out aisles. I know I will be making these and leaving those plastic bags in the stores.

Reusable grocery bags are very popular now. I am one that does prefer to take my own bags to the store each week. They are easy to customize to various sizes and they are so much quieter than those noisey little plastic bags. Quick and easy project to work and have lots of different uses besides just grocery getters.

I like it when you have the option to either work with the yarn as is, or to cut the yarn at specific points to customize the look of the finished piece. I so love the new Caron Cotton Cakes. This bag does look just like the same kind of shape of a classic plastic shopping bag. Good designs are good designs. They work for a reason!
