I love this. I just know my toddler granddaughter would cuddle it in her hands and kiss it. I enjoy making amigurumi characters. The fun yarn is perfect to give the spiky look to the hedgehog while keeping the huggable soft appeal to it. The natural coloring is cute. I also think it would be fun to try it in white with pink, purple or blue fun yarn. What do you think?

I don't think anyone could stay depressed when looking at this little guy! I think it's a great idea to give one of these to those who have fallen on hard times, need a shoulder or an ear, or a person who feels like they need a hug! Spread a little cheer to everyone this holiday season. Make this little hedgehog and put a holiday ribbon on him or her. Adorbs!

There is a lot of attention to detail on this hedgehog pattern. From the little button nose to the felt for the whites of the eyes. I would love to have this little critter in my collection if I were a youngster. This is the next best thing to a live one.

If Sonic would have been this cute, I may would have liked him more when he came into fashion as a video character, ;) This little woodland hedgehog is the next best thing to having the real thing. I can not wait for the opportunity to work with the Lion Brand Fun Fur. Thanks for the free pattern.

I usually don't like amigurimi but this pattern might make me a fan. The instructions are straightforward and it will work out quickly. I have quite a bit of the novelty yarn in various colors so I can make a few of them. They are so cute and I know one little girl who will love them. Thank you.

I tried and tried but to no avail I cannot understand the pattern at all do I do 2sc and 3sc all around or just go to the next row like 2sc and 3 sc then not do sc all around? I just don't understand it so I'm not attempting it. I've tried amigurumi several times and, like ripple afghans, they just don't ever come out even, even when I mark the stitches. So I'll just stick to my lemon peel stitch with my afghans. It's very disappointing, and I did watch the video on how to do circular stitches, but it never, ever comes out right.

Hi kittyfisher, For specific pattern questions, I suggest you contact the blogger at her site. :) But for this, she lists the number of stitches you'll have at the end of each round - a stitch marker can be handy! If rnd 2 is 2sc around, then you'll be double the number of stitches because you will be crocheting 2 single crochet stitches into each single crochet, and will be working on increases. Again, the best pattern help is the direct source, so i would encourage you to contact the blogger/designer of this pattern. :) Julia, editor for ALlFreeCrochet

I could tell just by looking at this little guy that this was going to be a difficult pattern. I must be way behind in keeping up with the newer yarns, but I did not realize that Lion Brand had a fun fur yarn. Im just curious if the fun fur yarn crochets like regular yarn or is it more difficult to work with?

OK, talk about one of the most adorable stuffed animals that I have seen. Honestly not a big toy fan, but this is one pattern that I will be making. Just looked at the pattern and will need to go and grab Fun fur. The little bow finishes off the entire thing from cute to Absolutely adorable and I must make lol. Nicely written pattern

When my oldest daughter discovered my collection of Beatrix Potter books, she fell in love with Mrs. Tiggy Winkle. This precious little sweetheart looks like a baby Tiggy! The basic shape is made all in one piece without any color change. The only tricky part is the fuzzy back, which is surface crocheted directly onto the stuffed body. I love the felt eyes, and was happy to see the old dollmakers trick of pulling them inward to indent them.

Did you ever make this hedgehog and can you give me some tips? I basically gave up...

Looks like fun!! Never done anything like this, but its worth a try!!!

This could not be any cuter. I have to make it for my six yeAr old grand son. He plays video games with his older brother and I think they are getting the wrong idea about hedgehogs.he asked me recently if there were any other animals that were blue like hedgehogs. I said they are not blue and was told most infactually that sonic is blue and he is a hedgehog. This will help show him they aren't really blue.

Oh how cute is this Adorable Woodland Hedgehog. After reading the leading story and then the pattern, I so want to make one for my friend whom had a live hedgehog that just passed away. Would it wrong to make it for her this soon? Not sure but it's the thought that counts, right? Anyways, I've saved the pattern and will be making it. Just not sure when I'll give it away.. Thank you so much for this cute, free crochet pattern..
