Art Deco Clutch

(4 Votes)

This simple Art Deco Clutch is a classic-looking clutch that's the perfect size for errands around town. It's big enough for your daily essentials including car keys, wallet, and cell phone. Using thin cotton yarn for this free crochet pattern will prevent the bag from becoming too bulky. The best thing about this pattern is that it's easy enough for beginners to complete. Be sure to include the lining to ensure the bag holds its shape over time.

Made this bag in white, to go with my outfit for a wedding, it was lovely and carried all I needed. Heather

I have made two clutch bags. I am a begginer and I thank you for such a clear and complete pattern instuctions. I loved your instructions. I donated the two bags to my church. I plan to make more and donate them to a nursing facility where my mom lives. The colors are awsome. I did use fabric that was bit heavier and I liked the way it turned out. Love it! Thank You Thank You! ew

Very elegant this colours my favourites! I love best the "stone-colours".

To laislanina: click on "click here for pattern" above, and all q's will be answered. This is a great and easy purse, but I would use the "shine worsted" as recommended. It's a beautiful yarn. The softest cotton I've used and pliable. Everyone is asking me to make them one of these clutches. The best place on the web to get this yarn is "knitpics". It's worth it. Using other yarn will suffice but you will not get the same beautiful result. I like to add decorative stitches to the end of the flap on each purse. They love it and the pattern is so easy and versatile. Kudos to the maker!!

Like this clutch pattern, does this have any special stitch? Or just basic stitches? What are the colors use for this pattern? thanks!

I can't wait to try this pattern. I used to teach beginning crocheting and this would make a good first project after the potholder. Trying it in different colors would be amazing as well. You could really dress this up as an evening bag.

One of the ladies at the inner city mission where I taught crochet lessons this winter loves this pattern! She just learned to crochet in late November and has made numerous purses. This pattern is next! Thank you for sharing it. :-)

This looks like a great fast project. I just need to get some fabric to line it.

I love the look of this clutch.Have to try it.
