Christmas Granny Square Dish Cloths

"Decorate your kitchen this holiday season with Christmas Granny Square Dish Cloths. These four festive Christmas granny square dish cloths are inexpensive and can be made in a weekend. The double crochet granny square pattern uses one color of cotton yarn per dish cloth and is finished with a slip stitch edge. For a variation, use multiple colors in each cloth or finish each cloth with a different color edge. This pattern can be adapted for any holiday color scheme."

When I was working in Head Start, one of the kitchen ladies gave me a genuine Sunflower brand dishcloth. Ive been sold on this type of dishcloth ever since, and this project reminds me an awful lot of my treasured cloth. A set of these would make a wonderful hostess gift any time of year, not just at Christmas. I saw some sets at a recent craft show, and they were selling like hotcakes. You just cant find quality like this anymore.

These quick Christmas granny square dishcloths are almost too cute to be used as dishcloths. For the handy do it yourself-er, these would really be nice to include in those baskets of food items that you make to give away. I like to create individual baskets to suite the person that I am giving it to. These will be nice additions to all of the baskets.

What a great idea! I never thought of tucking them into food gifts, but it would be cute to pair red and white ones with a pasta basket.

I am making some of these right now, but not in the granny square style. Although, there is something about these that really appeal to me. It almost resembles a Christmas star. I appreciate the large size, especially good for washing all those large pots and pans. Such a thoughtful gift idea!

These are very lovely dishcloths and so festive to give your kitchen a little holiday spirit during this upcoming season. When you have guests over, they will love these and probably want a set for themselves. I looked at her other projects and got a few ideas for gifts to make this year.
