"Chain 140 (If you want a smaller or larger blanket, just make sure you chain in even numbers) Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook. DC in each stitch to the last stitch. Ch 3. Turn. Row 2: Skip first stitch and DC in next stitch. DC in stitch just skipped. Repeat until 2 stitches remain. DC in last stitch. Ch 3. Turn. Row 3: Repeat row 2. Row 4: DC in next stitch and each stitch across. Repeat rows 2-4 until desired length. Mine measured about 36”."

NotesI tend to crochet tighter so you use whatever hook you would like to get the size you want.

You can also add a border to this blanket.

How much yarn do I have to buy for this afghan?

Hi weidnerl, That's a great question! Since the blogger doesn't provide that information on their blog, I would suggest commenting directly on there or contacting the blogger directly. :) Good luck! Julia, AFC editor

This pattern is so easy, and the result is an absolutely beautiful, soft, cuddly baby blanket. The pattern is well written, and would be easily done by beginners. I recently made a criss-cross patterned baby sweater for our new baby boy expected in April, and this blanket will be the perfect compliment to it. I'm going to add a hat and booties and give it as a shower gift.

I love that the fabric looks tight enough on this so little baby fingers won't get caught and hurt. Very handy!

Thank you so much! If you have any questions or make one yourself please let me know. If you have a Ravelry account look me up. My username is fsugrad109. I have other criss-cross patterns that would make a good baby set )
