This stitch is new to me and I really love the look of it. I think it would also look so pretty as a stitch for a scarf, too!

I love this scrapbusting idea for a blanket. You could even call it a crochet version of a crazy quilt. This would be a great place to use those leftover bits of cake yarn, too. The V Stitch is so easy to work, and the designer provides very nicely detailed photos of the first few rows. Theres even an instructional video. My biggest problem will be lining up my colors and deciding what order to work them.

Although I like the look of a scrappy blanket, sometimes I get carried away and want to keep with a particular color scheme. Ha! I would most likely go through my stash and pick coordinating colors if I wanted to make this V stitch blanket. I also like the contrast and shock of adding a black in there, too.

Lovely blanket. Cant wait for the Sedge tutorial! I made a v stitch blanket years ago, then lost the pattern. Now I can recreate that blanket with your tutorial. Thank you so much. Have done this previously in two colors. Multi-color makes it so lively! I love the stitch(so easy) and your colors are gorgeous.

One of the first crochet projects I did used a V-stitch because it's one of the easiest to learn. This Yarn Stash V Stitch Crochet Blanket is pretty easy to make even for beginners. Grandma will love to receive this on her birthday or mom on Mother's Day.

The stitches for this blanket are super simple. The yarn colors are too beautiful to be stash colors, but if they are, I wish I had her stash. This blanket looks so much like Spring. This would be pretty as a blanket for a baby girl and I think the size she made this one would work just fine. It would be super simple to enlarge to any size though.

Hi madelinebrinkert, This pattern, as currently written by the blogger, provides a blanket that is 65cm wide for a foundation chain of 79. You are free to modify this to the size you want by working a starting foundation chain that's any multiple of 2+1. Hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

65cm x 75 cm is about 25 inches x just under 30 inches. Receiving blankets are usually about 25 inches, baby blankets are usually about 30 inches. So this does fit in the baby blanket category. You can always add to it to make it larger if you need to.

That's the beauty of crochet! You can customize any project any way you like. Since you know the stitches you need for the pattern are a multiple of 2 1, it should not be hard to adjust it to a larger size.

I love this Yarn Stash V Stitch Crochet Blanket pattern. Like Lynn K (below) said, we all have left over yarn, I have bags full and now I know what I'm doing with it. This pattern is so easy and with the written pattern that has pictures to help it will go smoothly. The V stitch is so easy to do too. I can see mine in so many different colors and it can be added to as your get more left over yarn. What a great idea. I can see this blanket becoming a queen or king size blanket by the time it's done. LOL Waste not, want not Right? Thank you for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I do not think there is a crocheter or knitter anywhere in the world who does not have a huge stash of left over yarns. Fabrics too if, like me, you also sew from time to time. Great projects like these are always so nice to find because we can put those bits and pieces to good use. It also lends interest to the project if the colors are not all in neat stripes so let your creative side loose and use up those colors in whatever way you feel.
