Kimberly has provided this neat tip on how to crochet a flower. It's an easy pattern any beginner can make.

Center:
Chain 5 connect in fifth 1 from hook to make a round do 10 double crochets connect in the first double crochet

Pedal:
Chain 2 do 3 double crochets in next hook chain 2 and connect with a slip stitch in next stitch repeat 4 more times so you fave five pedals.
Fasten off

If you want to you can sew a button in the middle
