I love the look of cables but I usually have to knit to get them. I haven't done them in crochet but I am going to try these. After reading the instructions , I don't see nothing difficult. I tend to just jump right in and it turns out pretty well, usually. These will be in a dark blue and I may add trim to them.

how many skeins of yarn does the pattern call for?

Doesn't really say does it. I would guess two skeins since it's the thick and quick with not as many yards per skein. However, to be safe, I would probably get three just in case. These should work up quick and keep us toasty all winter.

I'm always looking for new slipper patterns since my feet always get cold when I'm lounging around at home. These are cute and look so cozy!
