This is such a pretty design and would look so lovely in a 3-ply sport yarn with an F hook. It could take up to 3 skeins since they are smaller, but just think how soft and delicate it would be. Can't wait to get started on one!

To Goldenwren. If you'd checked the pattern, you would have found a link to a bigger picture of a chunkier version of this shawl. http://anastaciaknits.net/?p=17

loved this pattern, it was quick and easy to crochet (I finished it in one evening) and I got many compliments on it !

The pattern is written so you can make it as big as you'd like. The moniker "top down" in this case is not entirely appropriate, but as you read the pattern you realize that each row adds more stitches, therefore your pattern grows. I plan to make on for my daughter for this Fall season in the DK weight. :)

@debra102554 4558686, I just tested the link and it seems to be working fine. Once you click on the link on this page that says "click here for crochet pattern," a new window will open up, taking you directly to the original designer's site. To view the pattern from here, please scroll down and click on the link directly below the image that says "download now." The pattern is a PDF file and you will need the latest version of Adobe installed on your computer. I hope this helps! --Editor of AllFreeCrochet
