STITCHES USED

SPECIAL TECHNIQUE
Adjustable-ring method — Wrap yarn into a ring, ensuring that the tail falls behind the working yarn and is at least 4"/10cm long. Between finger and thumb, grip ring and tail firmly. Insert hook through center of ring, yarn over (with working yarn) and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through loop on hook (first chain stitch made). Work stitches of first round in the ring. After the first round of stitches is worked, pull gently, but firmly, on tail to tighten ring.

SCARF

Make an adjustable ring.
Round 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 11 more dc in ring; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—12 dc. Pull gently on beginning tail to close ring.
Round 2: Working in spaces between sts (instead of in top of sts); [ch 12, sl st in next sp between sts] 12 times; join with sl in sl st as base of first ch-12—12 ch-12 sps and 12 sc.
Round 3: *Ch 8, [insert hook in next ch-12 sp , yo and draw up a loop] 3 times (4 loops on hook), yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook, ch 8, working over next sl st, sc in sp between sts of Round 1 (petal made); repeat from * around—4 petals.
Round 4: [8 sc in next ch-8 sp, (sc, ch 3, sc) in top of next petal, 8 sc in next ch-8 sp] 4 times; join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.

FINISHING
Block flowers lightly. Arrange flowers in a strip, in the following color order: A, B, C, D, A, B, C, D. Whipstitch flowers together, sewing in tips of petals only. Note: When sewing two flowers together, use the same color yarn as one of the flowers.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
