I love that this is worked across the width so you can make it as long as youd like. Its another one of those Crochet Til You Run Out kind of projects so you know exactly how much yarn to buy. The designer suggests using the Caron So Soft but there are other brands of Medium (4) soft yarn that will work, too. And if youre stuck with a stiffer yarn, there are lots of suggestions on the web on how to soften yarn.

I absolutely LOVE the Houndstooth pattern, it is so classic and chic. I've always wanted to crochet the pattern, but changing colors every row seemed like it would be a nightmare of weaving in ends. Well...low and behold...you can "teach an old dog new tricks"!! Crocheting the unused yarn along in the next row is GREAT!! Thanks for the pictures that illustrated how it's done. I will be using this beautiful. versatile pattern a lot in the future.

Great pattern! Easy and it came out beautiful. I only used one ball of each color...FYI. I also made matching mits that I got from a magazine. Super cute! Make it!

I made this scarf for my husband, he wanted something a little more sophisticated than the usual ones I make. His favourite colour is red so I swapped out the white for the red and added a few stitches just to bulk it up a bit more. Gorgeous pattern, and definitely a great gift idea

Been looking for a hounds tooth pattern since I saw one that was not available. This pattern looks super easy. It could also be made as a regular scarf with fringe. Other color combinations would look good to but probably black should be one of the colors.
