I love this Lacy Magenta scarf for its length. Although I like a wide scarf. I can't see the stitch used but it looks nice. Oh yes. Ripple is the stitch used.

This project is worked across the width of the scarf but because it uses a small hook (size H), it uses more yarn than I initially thought it would. With an initial starting chain of 55 stitches, its also wider than it appears in the photos. But you need that many stitches in order to create the alternate open and solid ripple effect. With the pattern repetitive after Rows 2 and 3, you can make the scarf as long as youd like.

I love the ripple stitch pattern. It is fun to do and watch the ripple take effect. I also love the beautiful magenta color used in this pattern. This would definitely make a great , quick Christmas gift, since it is easy to do, also. Just make sure you are paying attention to your stitch placement and it is easy.

The very first afghan I ever made was the one using the ripple pattern. That was about 49 years ago and I still love it. And thus rating is very on target, it's very easy. And you used my favorite color too. It's a win/win project. Thanks for sharing it and reminding me of how great it looks.
