This is just stunning! I tend to stay away from turtlenecks, so cowls fill the gap in my wardrobe. The project is available in neck length and chest length, and the author includes a helpful photo of what the Diamond crochet stitch is SUPPOSED to look like. My first attempts at this stitch were sadly NOT like the example! And now theres a video tutorial, too.

I don't understand how to get the pattern. I finally downloaded the pdf reader, and even then it keeps wanting me to dl it again. Then it says "you already have it". Someone please help me. Jeani

Hi Jeani, You shouldn't have to download anything to get this free pattern. Simply click on the link that says "click here for free crochet pattern," and a new tab will open up, taking you to the original designer's website. Here, you can see the full pattern without download anything. Simply scroll down a bit on the page. I hope this helps! -editors of AllFreeCrochet

I've made about a dozen of these diamond cowls and everyone loves them (makes an excellent gift). My latest one, I added a grape cluster embellishment to it. Too bad we can't upload pics here, I would love to show it off. ;-)

Where can I find the written pattern for the Diamond Crochet Cowl?

I have been crocheting for less than 6 months and found this pattern really easy. It helps that she has now added a video showing how to do the fpdc2tog

Hi everyone, Thanks so much for your feedback on the skill level of this crochet pattern. We've updated it and it's now rated as "Intermediate" skill level. We apologize for any inconvenience, --the editors of AllFreeCrochet

It should be rated "difficult." I have been crocheting for 40 years and I had a difficult time figuring out the pattern.

This was difficult, but it is very beautiful.

This is a beautiful pattern, but I do not the directions for the front post stitches are confusing to me. I understand how to do the FPTS but I don't understand the placement in this pattern. Do you have a video showing how to do the fptc2tog in this pattern? Please?

I love it, but what yarn did you use? I like this color, but did not see it in the Caron yarn suggested.

I wish you would make these printable..i can do this at work but I can not sit at a pc and do it...Please!

There's an easy way to do that. Click on the link for the pattern, then highlight it and copy it onto a Word document (or whatever wordprocessing program you have on your computer), and you can save it, if you wish, and print it off from there. That's what I do with patterns I want to keep to be able to knit or crochet at a later time, without having to keep it up on my computer, or for when I am away from my computer. Have fun with it!
