Using worsted weight yarn, the double crochet stitch and this free crochet pattern you can make a very similar Bumpy Hotpad/Potholder. Use this design to take hot dishes out of the oven or microwave. Choose colors to match your kitchen.
Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Janet, I am not sure where you would find the patterns that call for string material. I know my grandmother made a lot of hot pads with this material. Have you thought about finding a pattern you like, and just using the string anyway? or maybe using more than one strand of it?

I am looking for a pattern that you crocket with string material to make Hot Pads. I have looked every where for this pattern but have not found one yet.... I was hoping you could Help me....
