This sweet little appliqu is part of a set of free patterns offered by the designer. All of them use simple, basic stitches, and this little chickie is no exception. There is not only a video but also easy to follow instructions and step by step photos. Although the designer uses an adhesive eye, I chose to replace that with a French Knot instead.

I just read thru the pattern and there is nothing to it. I should be able to whip one out in no time. I like to make up a bunch of embellishments in different colors and just put them away. Then when I want one for a project I am doing, I just pick one out. No need to panic and try to find one to make at the last minute.
