This hat uses a K size hook, so its going to work up fast! The only deviation from your standard hat is at the top, where after you make your initial increase, you stay at that number of stitches to create the bump. The designer mentions making one up for Newborn to 3 Months, but doesnt give any details about how she did it. This pattern is clever enough that it would be worth my time to play around with it.
