I haven't tried this one yet, but have downloaded the PDF pattern. After reading the info on Kim's page she said this is a Caron pattern that isn't on their page anymore. I'm so happy that she was given written permission to post the PDF, because this is a beautiful hat. I so want to make a few of these warm stylish hat for this winter. The pattern is well written and easy to understand and follow. It uses Caron Simply Soft yarn that has reasonable price and comes in some sweet colors. The only thing I think I would do is change the bow and add a small flower. I'm not a bow type of person.. LOL Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

Wow! This Kate Middleton Cloche Hat is really classy and soooo stylish! I'm so excited about getting started on this hat! I believe each of my daughters are getting one in their coat coordinating color for Christmas! I love the feel of the Caron Simply Soft yarn and I think even the tweeds would work wonderfully with this pattern. Thank you for this terrific pattern!

There is a faint scribble just above her photo. I must admit it took me a few tries to see that "PDF download sign". Not user friendly no wonder people are having a hard time with it. Any other downloads do not work here.

I tried to download the pattern - more than one time - went exactly how it was explained to download - there was NO PATTERN! This is the third time I have been disappointed b either bogus instrucgtions on other patterns - or NO patterns.

Hi! If you click on the link it takes you to the blogger's page and when you scroll down past all the text, there is a link for the PDF download. It is a little hard to see, but I've attached an image of where to find it on the page. Hope this helps!

I like this Kate Middleton Cloche Hat because of its not-too-wide brim. I also like the color grey used here as it can match with any color outfit. This is definitely in my queue of projects.

Ive made several hats by this designer and have been very pleased with the results every time. I was more than happy to add this download to my collection and I can attest to how stylish this hat turned out. Last year I was working it up for myself. Then one of the visiting teen granddaughters spotted it. I couldnt resist her begging, so I gave her the one I was working on and have yet to start another for myself.

This pattern looks fairly simple but has a nice detail to it with the band and bow You could make it in alternating colors as well. I would not call the yarn"bulky" since it only calls for a size G hook. I buy the yarn they recommend all the time and it is a nice yarn to work with and not expensive. This will make a nice hat. Thank you.

When I hit download, there was no pattern. Just that it was discontinued, but pattern was being made available with permission.

Hi inarios, Clicking the above link will take you to the blogger's page. From there, she offers a downloadable PDF which will download when you click the link. I hope that helps! Julia, AFC editor

Very cute and professional looking hat. This could compliment the working womans wardrobe when going into the office on a cold and chilly winters day. It could serve a dual purpose of fashion statement and ear warmer all in one. Classic. You have a winner with this pattern. Great job.

I really like the look of this Kate Middleton Cloche Hat, it's very elegant looking. After up loading the PDF and reading the pattern I think it will come out great! I do have one question though, for the band where it says crochet in the back loop only. Do you crochet in the top back loop or the back bump after the two loop on top of the single crochet? It looks like the back bump loop to me, to make it look like it's knitted. I hope my question came out like I wanted..?? Looking forward to trying this one. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet hat pattern.

It's just the regular back loop, not that "back back" loop that is sometimes called third loop.

Very cute! I need to wait for my hair to get a bit longer before I can pull off this style of hat. Right now it looks like I'm bald, haha. I'm curious about the gauge, though...it looks like a fairly tight gauge, and this site calls for bulky yarn to be used. But the link to the pattern says 3.8stitches per inch, which I don't think I could achieve with bulky yarn. Has anyone tried with different weights? How did it turn out?

What a very classic looking hat! I think it will never get out of style. Thanks for the free crochet hat pattern.

Been wanting to make this hat for a long time now and finally did it. Had trouble making gauge, probably because I was using a different yarn than the pattern called for. Design uses Caron Simply Soft and I used I Love this Yarn in Light Sage. Even though they are both labeled as worsted weight, I think the Simply Soft is a little thinner. Now that I have made this one I want to get some Simply Soft and make another one. This design is easy and addictive!

I made this hat and it was so simple, I pulled out the firstIrow of the band. i had no experience with that type of stitching so I thought it couldnt be right. i plan on making many more with bows, buttons, ribbon, colors, etc I recommend this hat, f

This is so cute!!! Love the simplicity, with the little bow. The perfect sized brim, too.
