I love this clever hat even without the embroidered message on the front. Most Messy Bun hats are beanies, so it was a rare treat to find one with earflaps. You need hats for cold weather not just bad hair days. I appreciated the many photos of the completed project because it was easy to see just where to adjust it for a regular hat instead. I have short hair so I dont have any need for a messy bun myself.

Oh this hat is mine all the way! I love this Bad Hair Day Messy Bun Ear Flap Hat! I love hats but with my hair being so long, down to my butt, it's hard to wear hats. Hats make my hair a mess and this one will be perfect, I can put my hair in a pony and look great while keeping warm! I can't wait to make this one and I know I'll make more then one, different colors for different out fits. This pattern is well written and easy to follow. Looking forward to seeing this one done. Thank you for sharing this free crochet pattern.
