Basic Crochet Hat

By:

An easy men's hat is just the ticket this winter season. Make this men's Basic Crochet Hat in a variety of colors that suit his personality and style. The thinner the yarn you use, the more flexible the hat will be. If your man is lacking in the hair department, though, you should probably stick to heavier yarn for the added padding and warmth. It's such a simple crochet hat pattern but will be so useful this cold winter season.

I tried to start the hat using this pattern, but I am confused - working 1 sc in the first sc then 2 sc in the next sc in the first round only makes 9 stitches, not 11 (if you are working them into the first row of 6 sc). I see the other comments say others made this hat and it was easy - what am I missing??

Wow! Really like this pattern. Worked up so quickly & easily. The sc stitches made a warm hat.

Wondering the same as Member 1486242... is there a slip stitch or just continuous?

Hi twsarah1, I don't know if there's a correction that's been made since your post, but the first round says 'Sc in first sc, 2 sc in ea sc around', so you're actually only going to do 2 sc in the last 5 sc, which will add up to 11. :) Lindy

I dont understand how you can start with 6 sc then put 2 sc in each and come out with 11 I always come out with 12 then 24 then 36 so my count is always off from yours It still works out but less confusing.
