I live in Easter North Carolina and one of the local universities has a pirate as a mascot. I would have to make some changes to the colors used here but I know a certain young girl that will be graduating next year that would love to have this as a memoir of her years at ECU.

I will be the first to admit I am a fan of the Pirates movies staring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. So as homage, this would be some what appropriate. However, I am not feeling this as a full afghan though. I think a pillow to place on a chair in the family room would be more to my liking.

It's not hard, it's cute and I know a nine year old boy who would love receiving it. First of all its colors will really brighten his room. Secondly we live close to Tampa so it will be his buccaneers bed spread. This is a wonder Christmas present that I can put aside.
