How did you join the squares?

Hello! Here is a page that might help you with assembling your granny squares. I hope this helps! Let us know if you need anything else: https://www.allfreecrochet.com/Crochet-Videos/How-to-Assemble-Your-Granny-Squares

Wish this had a video. Would love to make this as it's so different. I do not crochet much anymore. A video would sure help!

Hi pneub, I agree - videos are so helpful! We typically only make videos for our own projects, though, and this is by Red Heart. :( Sorry! Julia, AFC editor

Beautiful color combo of colors! Very different!

I really like this. It is a nice change from the typical granny square afghans. I have never made three quarters of a granny square before. This should be fun. I like the way they give a stacked effect look to the afghan. I havent seen the colours listed in the pattern, but I am sure I can find something close to them if I choose to go with that colour scheme.

Very beautiful pattern. I love the color combination but I was thinking of doing this in aqua/raspberry/rust/ combo. Whatever. Here's the link to the pattern http//www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-Afghans/Crochet-G == ranny-Afghan-from-Red-Heart-Yarn

I gave this pattern to my neighbor and it turned out beautifully! I want to make one for myself!

If you use the link above, please be aware that there is the original pattern and one marked "corrections". If you search the RedHeart site for "Tiles Granny Afghan Pattern" both the original and the corrected patterns come up.

I just completed the 63 squares it takes to make this afghan. Now I have spent the last four hours trying to figure out how to put it together. The diagram was confusing not knowing what the X's were. Then at the very bottom it says the X box = rounds 1 and 2 of block. I now have to make 60 more blocks of rounds 1 & 2 to complete the afghan. It would have been helpful to have put somewhere in the directions to make these 60 blocks. It has turned out pretty but I have made prettier ones a lot less work involved and a lot less expense with the materials.

You don't need to make any more squares. The "X" just shows the orientation of the square - where you started the actual square before you crocheted along just 2 edges.

This is so pretty !! I can't wait to start it. I found the assembly diagram by clicking on the word "diagram". In fact the whole pattern, and assembly diagram came up, and I simply copied it. So easy !! Thank you for this lovely pattern.
