I was thinking- what is up with the wooden ring? I couldn't imagine that that would be appropriate for a teething baby. But I see now it is a thing that exists. My kid is 15 tomorrow, and all we had were plastic and silicone. A natural material would be optimal, wouldn't it? Neat idea on how to use your random yarn stash.

You can get silicone teethers

This is a wonderful idea for a teether. The pattern is very easy to follow. The only major change I would make is to start with a Foundation Half Double instead of a chain. Ive found that when making long chains that youre going to join anyway, working it as a Foundation stitch makes it easier to handle and no accidental twisting. If you dont want to use a wooden ring (make sure its untreated wood), you can always go with another round teether toy.

I've never heard of organic wooden teething rings before. What a creative craft!
