What a nice cowl pattern offered up here for our consideration. It's a timeless design done up in neutral colors. However, on the flip side, if you are a fan of color like I am, how about whipping this up in a black with bright neon purple, or a dark charcoal gray with a vivid teal?

This is a very modern look for a scarf and I love that if you work it in neutral colors, it can be unisex, too. Be advised that the above link takes you to Ravelry, not the designers own site, and you need to download the pattern in order to access it. Dont be confused by the name either. This Sassy Striped and Burton are the same thing.

This Sassy Striped Cowl looks very easy to make. The pattern says it's 48" long by 11" inches wide, so I would say it is long enough to wrap around your neck twice. The pattern is very well written and so easy to follow that I can see it coming together quite quickly. Working in the round is a different way then I've done cowls in the past, but I can see it being done. I'm looking forward to doing this one, just not sure which colors to do it in yet? Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

Loving the look of this cowl, subtle stripes and I could customize this to anyone's favorite colors! Has anyone made this cowl before? Do you know if it's long enough to wrap around your neck twice?

can you help me turn this into a scarf instead of a cowl?
