Crochet accessories are so on trend of late, I just have to get some more in my wardrobe. I would like to create this pineapple motif statement piece in an unexpected hot pink versus the pink shown. How about a saturated sunny yellow for a pop of sunshine on a cloudy day?

I dont normally attempt to many pieces of crocheted jewelry, but I might try this one. I dont have any odd chains around (major metal allergy here), but I do have some cording that would work just as well. This would also be a great practice piece for working up a Pineapple motif. Its pretty common in a lot of older doily projects, and I have had my senior ladies ask about them.

I just wanted to say ( I love pineapples ) I made it with worsted and it worked fine and is very pretty.

I have made this pattern to the 4 th row about 5 times and the same results happen. It doesn't look anything like the picture. What am I doing wrong? Is there something wrong with the pattern?

Once again, you aren't paying attention to the yarn weight. This pattern calls for size 10 crochet thread (standard size 0 yarns), not worsted weight (standard size 4 yarns). Someone really should be proofreading more carefully.

No, I did use the No. 10 crochet cotton and the same result came up 4 times in a row. It doesn't taper off to a point. There is something missing in the pattern. I just know it.
