Aruba Star
You can create this pretty Aruba Star that can be used for a variety of different uses, and would make a perfect coaster. This free crochet pattern uses Red Heart yarn in Aruba Sea. This would make a lovely gift and would be a perfect house-warming present for new home owners.
Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

This is a very pretty design, but it just looks incomplete as a coaster. When I went to the designers site, I wasnt surprised to find this wasnt specifically designed to be a coaster, but that was just a suggestion. I would use this pattern as the crown of a rasta type slouchie hat instead. Definitely a keeper for me.

This was a great pattern and easy. I used baby yarn to get the correct size for coasters. Then did two and single crocheted around the edges to give them a little bulk. I always need an easy gift for my RV friends. This will be one I can be proud of to give that everyone will use.

Beautiful!!! I agree with bessybubbles, it would make a lovely, scarf, vest or afghan... I plan on trying, perhaps for my next project.

I plan to use size 10 thread, and size 7 metal crochet hook and use this Aruba Star to embellish the ribbed cup cozy from yesterday. Both patterns are super easy and can be used for a last minute gift.

You could make so many things with this . Attach together for a vest , jacket, or an afghan! I think it is simply beautiful. You could crochet it in thread an starch them and hang them on your christmas tree, either in white, gold or silver. But it would be beautiful in many different colors as well!!!!!!
