For the life of me I couldn't follow this pattern. I found it to be confusing and vague.

To make it so it does not streach make a chain and thread it at the side from top to bottom and back tie it at the top and let it be as loose as you want Thats what I did Thanks Kathy

This bag looks great but a photo of it's base would help to ensure you were on the right lines from the beginning. Perhaps it will become clearer when I start to crochet it! Can't wait to start it.

I made this in just a couple of hours, using Lily Sugar n Cream yarn. I found the instructions slightly confusing, but figured out a way to make it work, and the bag is just perfect to me!

I made a bunch of these as Christmas gifts WITHOUT using them first. My finished bags were about 9 wide by 12 long and I also used Sugar n Cream yard. When I used one at the grocery store for the first time, I put produce in it and by the time I walked out to my car, it had stretched to over 2 feet long and I had to keep it from dragging on the ground. UGH! So, I've found they can't be used for anything heavy and trying to remember that at the store became to troublesome. Would love some suggestions on a better yarn to use. I experimented with tighter stitches and shorter bags which helps but still not perfect. :-(
