This looks like an amazing pattern. I am hesitant to make anything with homespun yarn because of how difficult it is to find stitches. The last item I made with this yarn was a baby ear flap hat, and it did not turn out very well, as I remember. I may have to get some and give this pattern a shot. It seems pretty easy to follow, and will work up quickly.

I worked up a few rows of a sample swatch just to get the jist of how this works out. Working the actual stitches wasnt a problem, but I did have some issues with keeping the tension right. Its a little bit hard to explain, but since I didnt have a solid base like a Foundation, it was tricky to keep the size of the stitches consistent. Not having a solid start is a benefit with some patterns, but I generally work a border so its not usually an issue for me.

This is something I have heard of but never tried. I am old school and been crocheting for 50 years and when I saw a tutorial, I just had to try it. Now I can add another skill to my crocheting craft. Thank you for making it so easy for me.

So it is a lace inspired design that is worked using a bulky weight boucle yarn. The pattern keeps flowing with an open feel to it to keep it from getting too "thick" and "stiff", which is what we DON'T want in a cuddly afghan or blanket. Boucle can be tough to work with for beginners, though, so be careful if you make a mistake- and you will- the yarn can catch and knot up on you when you're "frogging" your work. Good luck!

This piece is definitely a stimulating textile work of art. I've never made up a piece that doesn't have a foundational chain so that will be a new experience. However I admit I don't think it's one that I'll miss! I really like the intricate pattern design. It's great to have the chart included that allows us to make this afghan any size we desire or need. I'm down to forest or clouds as far as color choice with the yarn. What do you think?

This is a lovely afghan pattern. I also love that the designer has provided the option to make this quick chain-less shell lace blanket in more than one size. So from a baby to an adult, this could be a great gift or one to make for yourself.

I must admit, I was taken in by the verbiage quick because I love to get things done quickly. Projects that also begin chainless is a plus in my book. This patter shows texture and I am sure the recipient will love it. Thanks for the free pattern.

I love so many of this designers knit and crochet patterns. I am a member of a stitching group that knits and crochets hats and small blankets for the local homeless shelters. We mostly use yarn that is donated to us by local churches. Sometimes local craft shops will donate some of their clearance yarn.

Now this will be totally different for me. I have been crocheting for 50 years so it's hard to break a set pattern, but I want to try. And I know exactly what I will make it for. I have a bathroom window that has frosted glass but I still want a curtain. Give me a spring loaded cafe rod and this and I am set.

I've been crocheting for the longest time but I haven't tried doing a chainless shell pattern project. This Quick and Chainless Shell and Lace Blanker will by my first project of this type just in case I start this project which is completely new to me. I want to do it, though in a more vibrant color instead of this drab brown combination. I can't wait to start it.

I love her patterns. I have got to read and find out how the make a project using the no beginning chain method. I hope it is easy. I am always up for learning a new stitch and love reading tips from other crocheters to learn all of these new shortcuts people have figured out.

I really like this Quick and Chainless Shell and Lace Blanket pattern. It's so easy and especially these no beginning chains patterns with the pictures are great! So well written for the beginner crocheter. I like the cart for different sizes as well. Thank you for this free crochet pattern.
