Primrose Crochet Blanket

"The primrose blanket is a floral design, perfect for cooling summer evenings but also great as a crib blanket or stroller blanket. Its made out of a slowly variegating yarn and a constant colour, used for joining and bordering. The variegating yarn will make each flower unique, and together they form a summery blanket! This pattern calls for 5 skeins of Scheepjeswol Invicta colour, and 4 skeins of Invicta extra. It is worked with a 3,0 mm crochet needle. The pattern is join-as-you-go, so you can choose to work up a few motives first, but if thats not your cup of tea you can also choose to add new motives to the growing blanket immediately. The choice is yours! The finished blanket measures 80 x 120 cm. However, with a couple of extra skeins you can easily make a large blanket. The joining and border are both modular and will accomodate every size. So no worries!"

Im always looking for interesting little blankets that have unusual textures to serve as Tummy Time baby mats or lapghans for seniors. This project is great for working while traveling since the individual floral squares are worked separately and then joined later. The designer provides large detailed photos for each step. You can lay out your project as a square or rectangle because the lacy border will work for either.

Another intricately designed masterpiece, this Primrose blanket. Very tedious to make but the finished product is so beautiful. I love the alternating colors and the how each complement each other. Lovely!!

The pictures the designer posted are excellent. After reading the type of yarn I had to skip over to the site for further information. I may not elect to use the same yarn but the directions/pictures are inspiration if nothing else.

I think the one thing I like most about this pattern is "join as you go". I tend to make the pieces and let them lie about waiting to join later. This way you can make a few, join them and go on. I like the dimensional look of this pattern as well. It is a great stash buster. Thank you.

The three-dimensional design on this Primrose Crochet blanket is what really makes this design. Even if the project was crocheted with monochromatic colors the blanket would be a wonderful addition to any room's decor. I love the texture.

Red Heart Boutique yarn is perfect to be the yarn used in this outstandingly beautiful blanket. It's pure heaven just looking at it. I would LOVE to have this on my king sized bed. What an undertaking that would for sure! We are given yet another motif blanket with no joining together at the end because you do it as you go. I love that idea.
