I made this for my not-yet-born grandchild, and it turned out beautiful! I used a varegated brighly colored yarn for half the squares, and contrasting solid color for the others. I trimmed it with a scalloped edge, and it really turned out nice! I wish the instructions would have included connecting the squares together, but I used the method from another source for this and also for the border. I'm so happy with the end result! Alot of the patterns on this site leave alot of questions, and the pop ups are rediculous!

I made this afghan according to the directions and it turned out horrible. The blocks would not lie flat even after blocking, the chain 3's showed on every row and marred the look of the block, and even using the correct yarn and hook, the blocks came out smaller than indicated (and I keep a medium tension). What a disappointing pattern and waste of yarn. Look up "Solid Granny Square" by Moogly to learn how to do this block correctly.

I agree with 'Believer'. I am sick and tired of all the pop-up screens asking me to sign up, log in, re-direct, etc. THAT IS IT WITH ME. I will not return to this site. AND, I have found A LOT OF ERRORS in your crochet instructions (I have over 35 years of crochet experience.) DOES ANYONE TEST THESE PATTERNS????

I am not sure i understand the link / association to fave-crafts but when i take the time to sign up for one blog i don't like the bait and switch that directs me to another place to register and be concerned (yet again) about my email, name etc going all over creation. Please advise if this is absolutely necessary or if there is some way to post these patterns, ideas, helps on THIS site (all free crochet).

What roses?

I like this one the best - I just don't care for "heavy" afghans. Think this would be nice for a bridal gift or a smaller version for a baby.

I love the rose twists--it is soft and cheery
