Vintage Market Tote

search

This gorgeous vintage crochet bag features lacy shells along the middle of the bag and a gorgeously chic ribbon threaded along the top. You can keep this bag as is for a market bag or beach tote, but you can also add a simple liner to make it more of an everyday crochet bag.

From the Blogger: "This Vintage Market Tote is yet another amazing addition to my Vintage Collection! This tote is perfect for carrying all your beach/pool side goodies around."

Love vintage look projects. This tote is so pretty. White is definitely not the way to go for me though because it would get dirty so quickly. I would make mine in a variegated yarn to hide all of the everyday smudges that seem to collect on my totes because I use them all of the time.

This is truly a vintage looking design in this tote bag, with the shell design and the ivory color with the beautiful navy ribbon. It is almost too precious to use to throw your goods in for the pool. I would put a fabric liner in there and use it for my "ladies who lunch" group! I wold show this off!

LOVE!!

This is a gorgeous bag! It only uses basic stitches, but in reading through the pattern, I didnt see an explanation of the BLO or V Stitch. That would be very helpful for an advanced beginner who wants to tackle this project. There arent any photos of the project either. It also needs to be explained that the last few rows are what form the handleit is NOT worked separately and then attached.

What a beautiful crochet tote bag pattern! The chunky cotton yarn makes it so sturdy and a ribbon or rope woven through it gives it that added sophisticated touch. Does anyone know the finished size of this tote is! I did not see it listed on the pattern directions. Beautiful stitch design!

How many skeins of yarn?

Hi gammy, All additional pattern information is located on the blogger's actual page, accessed by clicking on the Click here for pattern link - we simply link out to it. :) For any further pattern-specific questions, I would ask the blogger. I hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

This Vintage Market Tote would make an awesome gift for the holidays. They could be made into a wide variety of colours with a matching rope. If you have any sewing talent, you could make a lining for inside the bag to give it a bit more stability. A lining would make it possible to carry smaller items, without losing them in the gaps!

I need a new bag so badly, but I haven't really wanted to spend the extra money on one. I love this bag so much, I think I will just make this. It is perfect for my needs.
