Actually, gray is a huge color in the fall lineup this season. So is black, powder blue, muted pink, off white, and lots of other non-traditional fall colors. I like this headband and it's flower. The only thing that threw me was that a little girl was wearing it. Looked more adult to me.

All right... some people are just down right nasty for the sake of being nasty... 1. It is a FALL headband when weather starts cooling up and getting chilly so a wide band is considered great for this time of year. 2. So you don't like the colors? Use your own imagination and colors YOU like...duh... 3. The flower is too big, wrong color yada yada.... again see #2 on the color and purchase a silk flower in the size you prefer...again...duh... I think it is really cute! My only concern is that no where does it say what size hook to use? Could anyone out there give this lazy stitcher an idea? says 16-20 stitches per 4 inches as a gauge guide....so what size would you, yourself use? Because I think the headband as cute as all get out!

never mind...lol after a little searching it seems that a sized G hook is the one. THough it still is not in the pattern intructions or materials list. Hope this helps others! :D

For me, black and grey are not fall colors, more winter. Might be cute with those leaves in a soft brown with a rust flower. But taste varies. These colors are not to my taste and do not coordinate with the orange and green leaves.

Well, I love it! I can see my granddaughters wearing it , and wanting others with different colors/trims. For the younger girl, the trims would have to be asmaller, bubt they like wearing different stuff than everyone else has. The older one might even start a trend with her friends. If I were 50 years younger, I'd certainly want a few different ones! They look fun..think high school colors ....perfect for football games!

Wow, there must be something wrong with me. Just read the comments, ooh, I thought it was cute. I do think I would use tan for the band and brown for the pom pom(?) only I would make it a little smaller. OK, so maybe I'm weird but I like it.

@Crafter 4160038, Go to the page and highlight the text once you've closed all pop-up ads, then right-click on it. You'll get a window that gives you the option to "copy." Do that, and then paste the text into a word document. You should be able print that document that way without the ads. --Editor of AllFreeCrochet

It looks too cluttered and also too heavy. Something not as big would look better.

I would change the color and adornments...these types of headbands are all the rage for you girls in the winter.

It's hideous!! I would NEVER make something like that, let alone expect someone to wear it!!

Ugly, ugly, ugly!!!!

I make ear warmers much like this one. I use all kinds of crocheted flowers. I attach them with a small brooch pin so that I can change the flower with the mood I'm in. Your ear warmer would look great in a dark orange to rust color, your color of flower is a bit dark for a young person tho. Great job on ideas!

I LOVE IT!!! I have just the right granddaughter for it. A little wild. A little Funky. Yep I love it.

I believe the color of the band should be red and the black flower should be orange. It would look more fallish, and perhaps the flower should be smaller. It kind of overwhelms the purpose of the headband.

Too busy; especially for a child of the one pictured. Perhaps a 'flower' of another color? Smaller? A large theme button (fish/book/stars, etc.) For an adult, or as someone else suggested in school colors, be that High School or College, a large black flower might be ok. But....I like the way the photographer put her hair under the headband. In general headbands are worn around the head-forehead to nape of neck-but, putting her long hair UNDER the headband is quite clever.

This is so cute. You could also do it in team colors for high school, college and NFL teams. I am definitely going to make this.

It's so cute I'm making me one and maybe my sisters too, but who know's I may make one for all the girls in my family too!!!

this is so cute and original, going to start one today!

Very cute. I know my Grand daughters will love one.

I think I would use a warm copper color to to with the leaves, but this could be used all year long with all the seasons!

Bet this would be sooo cute done in red with Christmas decorations. Very cute.

I love this headband! But when I make it, I would do the headband in a med/dark brown shade. I like the brown shades for fall and winter. :-)
