This is a different take on the ripple stitch project. The author basically starts you out, then once youve found the pattern (24 stitch increase each round), basically leaves you on your own to work out how big you want to make the finished project. I really like that the pattern calls for more rows of the main color than the complimentary colors, which are really used more like trim. Very different from the usual ripple.

I love the looks of this pattern. I read it over and I am looking forward to making it. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to make it for this Christmas, but it is on my project list for next year. I might add some embellishments to it, appliques jingle bells...the skies the limit.
