Santa's Crochet Gift Basket

Santa's Crochet Gift Basket will not only be a festive added piece of homemade Christmas decor, but it will also serve a great purpose. After you work up this cute crochet basket pattern, you are going to need something to put in it. Throw some balls of yarn into it and give the whole thing as a gift. If you print out one of our Christmas crochet patterns, you can slide the piece of paper right on in there to give them something to do with all that yarn. You can keep it for yourself, too, as a fun gift basket under the tree.

This would make an excellent gift for family and friends. Once the contents of the basket have been used, the basket can become a part of the decor next year during the winter holiday season.

I work in an office that gets a lot of foot traffic. I love to have a vessel filled with penny candy and this will be adorable on my desk this Christmas. It would also be a nice flower pot holder for the Christmas cactus I place on my desk each December.

Hi, this is a very cute basket. I've made the basket, but am stuck on the arm section. Can you explain how to do the arms or even show a video. I am making this for some of my friends as a gift. Would greatly appreciate your help. Thank You

Hi Ydsc, This is a yarnspirations.com pattern, so I would suggest going directly to them/their customer service and see what they have to help you. :) Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

This is just too cute. I have four grand kids all little ones so they will love it. I will make two. One for their house so their mom can make use of it and one for me to put my Christmas cards in that I receive. Thank you for sharing this.

A cute gift basket. This could hold so much stuff to help you decorate your house this Christmas. Candy, glass balls, yarn, and the list goes on. This uses bulky yarns so it will definitely not take too long for this project. The pattern looks so easy to make and one at each end of the fireplace would be a good look.

I love this. I think I will be making several of them. Some for me to use during the holidays, and others to use for gift baskets to give to my family at Christmas. I may even add ties to the ends of the hands so they can be used as a handle if wanted.

I have already started on making my Christmas gifts for this year..and early I might add. I am usually hustling at the last minute and then wind up with nothing. But thanks to me finding your awesome website and all the free patterns I am ahead of the game this year.

This is such a cute idea. I would make a nice gift basket for another yarn enthusiast, but I can see it filled with all sorts of bagged goodies. I usually back mini loaves of banana and other nut breads, but I dont have a nice basket to display them in. Or I might fill it with some homemade popcorn balls instead. It would be easy to make a matching Mrs. Santa (add a skirt) or change to green for an elf.

Where do we actually get the pattern from? I saved 2 and just keep getting the picture

Hi egoodpaster, The pattern is actually available right on this page! There are instructions for this under the difficulty, gauge and finished size. Thanks! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

Thank you for all your ideas, I'm making this for my upcoming holidays.

Oh this will definitely be made. I have a couple of uses in mind for it too. something to hold a bag of cookies to give away? Something to set on the bathrooms vanity to hold extra little items, fill it with mixed nuts and put it on a side table. The possibilities go on and on, thank you for sharing.
