So, so cute! These Paperclip Crochet Ice Skate Ornaments are so quick and easy to make! Almost everyone has paperclips around the house, so no extra supplies would have to be purchased. Great yarn stash buster project. You could change hook sizes and make different sized skates. Make a colorful skate garland to go around your tree or across your fireplace mantel.

I was disappointed with this pattern as an ornament. Its just too plain. Since its so small, its hard to add any other embellishments. That said, it does work wonderfully as an appliqu. Instead of the paper clip, I started the row with silver crochet thread and switched to worsted at the same point in the pattern. A very nice addition to some of my winter-themed (but not necessarily Christmas) childrens hats.

These Paperclip Crochet Ice Skates Ornaments are adorable. The pattern is so well written and reads really great that the beginner crocheter can make them. Another homemade Christmas ornament for our tree this year. I also like the idea of making them and putting them on gifts, they could be made with smaller paper clips and used as ear rings. These are so cute, I love the small pom pom on the end too.. all in all this is a must make!! Thank you so much for this free crochet pattern.
