Shining Star Lace Crochet Sweater

Like the brightest sky in the night's sky, the Shining Star Lace Crochet Sweater will truly make you stand out from the crowd. You can wrap yourself in style with this light beige crochet pattern. The longer length and three-quarter length sleeves make it the perfect topper for a variety of seasons. The neutral colors works well with both jeans and more polished outfits. The open design also gives you the opportunity to show off whatever top you wear underneath. You really can't go wrong with this crochet lace pattern. You will definitely shine bright once you work it up and wear it out and about.

Drops Design always has nice projects. The attached videos are a blessing and I just love surfing through there projects. I am glad that I found this one because it is such a versatile project.

Wow. This shining star lace crochet sweater is what I like to call a two-fer. You get two for the price of one. With the open weave this cardigan can easily be worn during the summer but during the colder months this could easily be layered over something.

This is a gorgeous pattern but I have noticed with the DROPS patterns I have knit, that you have to do some interpreting on your own. From the comments below, I can see this is the same challenge. I have read through the pattern and understand the confusion. It helps me sometimes to sketch out what I'm supposed to do. However, I have not read charts below. That's a new challenge. Does anyone have tips for doing that?

Has anyone successfully made this sweater? Most of the comments complain about problems with how the pattern is written. I would like to work up this beautiful piece, but don't want to invest my time and money and be frustrated and disappointed with the result.

I bought the yarn Before looking at the pattern back in 2016 and still can't make it. I'm so mad that they refuse to fix the pattern since it was published in 2014. I'd say you's have to be more than an expert to figure this one out.

Very pretty. This sweater jacket would be such a lovely addition to almost any outfit, whether smart or casual. I have noted the comments mentioning problems with the pattern and would love to hear from anyone who has actually made this. I would really like to make it but do not want to buy the yarn and get started only to find it is not possible to continue.

This is a lovely sweater jacket. I like the length which makes it a perfect accessory for jeans and casual clothes. Drops is a great site to get free patterns. This pattern is a challenging one but then that is why it got an intermediate difficulty rating. There does seem to be a lot of confusion about the assembly of this project.

Normally I love Drops patterns..... This is a nice cardi but I have to give it a miss, whomever wrote this pattern out should go back to pattern writing 101 classes! They have ruined the pattern with too many confusing directions and abbreviations! My motto with writing my own personal patterns is KISS Keep It Simple Stupid!

I cannot qualify myself to give this BEAUTIFUL sweater pattern a full five stars because of the confusion in reading and understanding the pattern. Look, we all have to step it up to the next level and increase our skills at some point. IN the beginning it will not be easy. But you have to start somewhere. At least there are several video tutorials to help people like me who need it!

Have you come across a Full tutorial?

I want to make this but do not understand what you mean by A.z, it is used a lot in the pattern and for the life of me I can't figure it out. Any help on this is appreciated.

A.z refers to a repeat of four rows of the pattern. It is shown on the diagram of the As on the right side.

The pattern is totally useless . If they write it up in terms you can understand would be nice But it is 1/2 terms and 1/2 graph

Hi Kitkat3470, I'm sorry that you're having trouble reading the pattern! You can try and contact Garnstudio with your questions, or you can post a question to our Facebook page (facebook.com/allfreecrochet) to see if anyone has any suggestions. Good luck! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochet

I like this sweater but I don't understand the part for the sleeves

I do not know why but they seem to think they simplified the pattern only to make it near impossible to follow.... Try asking their help desk.
