This is the most darling ever! I make hats for the nursery at the hospital, so I'll have to shorten the tail for those. But, I'm also going to make a couple....Tail and all, for my 2 granddaughters. They are old enough to handle the long tail. Thank you so much for sharing this! Rae, Wyoming

I love the look of this hat, but as others have said - the 'tail' is dangerously long. I'm also concerned about having pompoms within reach of the child's mouth: too easy to pull out threads and swallow them. Maybe just use the hat for photo ops?

The pattern notes "do not leave baby unattended in this hat". Very cute for a photo but as others have noted, a serious strangulation hazard!

I absolutely love this hat. The hat on that baby is adorable especially the way it hangs down. Thank you for this patter because I want to make it someday. I' have been crocheting for many years off and on but really do big projects. I think this wll be fun.

Cute but the long tail on the hat is a bit dangerous for babies and very small children. Strangling hazzard.
